Chinachem x French May 2025This year’s celebration unfolded with vibrant energy, pairing the Spirits Up! French GourMay Markets with 16 Trampoline x Hip Hop performances by French contemporary dance group Cie Racines Carrées. Through a fusion of acrobatics, street dance, and theatrical storytelling, these shows elevated art beyond convention and invited audiences to experience creativity in motion.
The event made contemporary art more accessible to the public, creating spontaneous interactive moments within commercial spaces. It demonstrated how cultural activities can strengthen placemaking, attract diverse crowds, and generate new opportunities for business partners.

Chinachem x French May 2024In its fourth year, our collaboration with French May Arts Festival reached a new milestone as Chinachem x French May expanded to D·PARK and Nina Park in Tsuen Wan—two vibrant places designed as Playground for All. This bold extension created a broader, more interactive cultural stage, highlighted by Intrusion Chorégraphique—a captivating sustainability-themed dance performance and workshop by French contemporary dance company KHAM—bringing the essence of French lifestyle and culture to the city.

Chinachem x French May 2023Art met sustainability in this year’s edition, as we reimagined cultural experiences with a green perspective. At Central Market and NINA MALL, beyond the French Traditional Gourmet Market, we introduced Waterlight Graffiti, an interactive art installation by Antonin Fourneau, which raised awareness of sustainability issues through live artworks created on an innovative water-activated canvas.

Chinachem x French May 2022To bring French gastronomy, culture, and art closer to the community, we extended the celebration beyond Central Market to NINA MALL in Tsuen Wan. Alongside the beloved French Traditional Gourmet Market, we showcased French artist Ophelia Jacarini’s interactive digital artwork Intraverse, which captured the motion of her dance in the Metaverse using Virtual Reality technology combined with an original dance performance.

Chinachem x French May 2021Chinachem Group partnered with French May Arts Festival for the first time, bringing music, dance, and art to Central Market for the public to enjoy. One of the highlights was mural painting and visual demonstrations by French street artist Elsa Jean de Dieu. She created four large on-site murals themed around “Places with Heart,” “Playground for All,” and “Approachable, Energetic and Gregarious.” Through these works, the artist expressed the French spirit of inclusiveness—a value also embraced by the Group and Central Market.
