The event featured a stellar lineup of guests, including artistes Mr. Danny Lau the “Grandpa” and Mr. Kalok Chow the “Grandson”, Hong Kong boxing champion “The Wonder Kid” Mr. Rex Tso, and three World Masters Games medalists aged between 80 and 90 — Mrs. Lam Yeung Pui Fong, Mr. Yeung Chi Kin, and Ms. Wan Lai Shing — alongside veteran track and field athlete Ms. Lok Suet Yee. They shared how different generations embrace sports and the positive impact it brings.
The Tsuen Wan Games unfolds in two phases: “Get Ready” and “Game On.” The first phase, “Get Ready,” kicked off in October with over 70 warm-up activities, while the “Game On” phase starting on 20 November invites everyone in the community to join in the fun of exercising and strengthening cross-generational connections.
“At CCG, we believe creating an ideal community goes beyond building structures, but about fostering meaningful connections through thoughtful spatial design and impactful events,” said Andy Cheung, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Chinachem Group. “With this in mind, the Tsuen Wan Games invites people of all ages, regardless of background or ability, to take part in these engaging ‘competitions,’ encouraging social inclusion and promoting healthy exercise habits, especially among the elderly. Not only does it echo the spirit of the National Games, but it also stands as a community-wide, all-ages sporting celebration for Tsuen Wan.”
The second phase of the Tsuen Wan Games, “Game On,” runs at D·PARK from 20 to 23 November. The first day is reserved for pre-registered non-profit organisations, including Yan Chai Hospital, H.K.S.K.H. Lady MacLehose Centre, and Caritas Tsuen Wan Community Centre, allowing seniors, youth, and underprivileged groups an exclusive experience to reflect the spirit of inclusion and sports for all. The following three days, from 11am to 7pm, are open to the public free of charge, offering 10 interactive experiences for all ages across a 10,000 sq. ft. sports arena. Highlights include fencing, bowling, rugby, archery, track cycling, golf, and cornhole. The track cycling challenge features adjustable height settings for both adults and children to enjoy the thrill of sports across generations. Visitors can also try at dedicated timeslots emerging activities that are relatively easier to pick up, such as the Mölkky Trial Class and Animal Flow Trial Class, a dynamic workout blending elements of gymnastics and yoga.
Two exciting senior-focused events will take place on 22 November: the “Triathlon E-Sports Competition,” co-organised by Golden Age Foundation and MedMind Technology, and the finale of the “Pine Care Cornhole Grand Prix,” hosted by CCG’s Pine Care. The Triathlon E-Sports Competition combines gaming with physical activity, making it accessible and engaging for participants of all abilities. Finalists will compete in categories including Seniors, Inclusive (for participants with disabilities), and Open. Meanwhile, the Pine Care Cornhole Grand Prix finale brings together spirited players from 12 Pine Care elderly centres, with an average age of over 80 and the oldest competitor reaching 95. These events prove that seniors can stay active, enjoy the fun of sports, and embrace a healthy lifestyle. Further information can be found here.
At the same time, “Game On” features multiple sports performances and over 40 workshops at the multi-purpose area, including:
• Freestyle yoyo performance by Simpson Wong Wai Sheuk, Champion of World Yoyo Contest 2025 Over40 Freestyle
• Rope skipping performance by the Hong Kong, China Rope Skipping Team
• Acrobatics trial and freestyle yoyo workshops
• Trampoline trial
The Tsuen Wan Games also introduces a dedicated “Athletes’ Village,” where Pine Care deploys a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support for physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being. Services include muscle strength and balance assessments, Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), depression screening, life story keepsake sand bottle workshop, and interactive senior-friendly technology experiences. These allow participants to enjoy sports while gaining valuable insights into their health, integrating wellness into everyday life.
CCG also partnered with the Hong Kong Breakfall Association to deliver expert guidance on fall prevention techniques, helping participants protect themselves during unexpected loss of balance and raising overall health awareness.
