Chinachem's attention to construction and workers' health and safety was recognised at the 19th Construction Safety Award, when One Hennessy at 1 Hennessy Road won the Silver Award for Best Method Statement.

The building, because of its unique inverted pyramid design, presented many inherent challenges. Due to the complexity of the project, planners placed an uncommonly strong emphasis on health and safety, built around designing temporary work structure to minimise the number of falsework and scaffolding as well as reduce changes in “working at height” and lifting operations.

The Construction Safety Award aims to recognise construction companies, management and workers that have shown outstanding occupational safety and health performance in order to enhance safety and health awareness and reduce work injuries in the construction industry.
