Chinachem Properties Win Platinum Award of Charter on External Lighting
11 October 2017
Six properties under Chinachem Group, including The Lily, L'hotel Island South, L'hotel Nina et Convention Centre, L'hotel Causeway Bay Harbour View, Lodgewood by L'hotel Mongkok and Lodgewood by L'hotel Wanchai, were awarded the Platinum Award of the Charter on External Lighting.
The award was given in recognition of the properties' adherence to their pledge to switch off external lighting between 11pm and 7am. As part of Chinachem's commitment to energy saving, environmental protection and sustainable development, the Group signed the Charter on External Lighting last year, the first such initiative launched by the Environmental Bureau.
The Charter invites owners and responsible persons for external lighting installations to switch off lighting installations with decorative, promotional or advertising purposes that affect the outdoor environment during preset times. The signatory organizations not only minimize light nuisance, but also save energy and money on electricity, which largely helps to develop and enhance their corporate image.
