Sylvia Chung- Chief Business Impact Officer, Chinachem Group
- Deputy MD, Nina Hospitality
The Chinachem Group is entering its second 60 years with a sharp focus on ensuring the impression it makes is always a positive one, and Sylvia Chung’s leadership role in the new Business Impact, Branding and Marketing Division is central to delivering on that promise.
Alongside to advocating for the company’s culture, shaping the business narrative, and ensuring a consistent Chinachem voice throughout, Sylvia is tasked to ensure that a unique experience awaits those who encounter the Group through its many touch points. And with the corporate philosophy of creating shared value throughout, her management of the CSR activities are another vital responsibility within her portfolio.
Sylvia retains her Deputy Managing Directorship of Nina Hospitality, a business she has grown and guided through five hotel openings as well as a group wide re-branding and re-positioning initiative. Indeed, her role before joining Chinachem was to lead the highly successful transition of Hong Kong’s legendary Miramar Hotel into its current contemporary form, the Mira, so guiding change is in her DNA.
An enthusiastic supporter of all things Hong Kong, Sylvia has held many leadership roles in community, social, industry, and tourism NGOs and committees. And in 2014, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University presented Sylvia, an MSc graduate from their School of Hotel and Tourism, with their Outstanding Alumni Award.
