Charitable Activities

Chinachem has been an active contributor to Hong Kong and Mainland China for many years and is proud to have established the Chinachem Charitable Foundation in 1988. Through the Foundation, Chinachem has initiated many projects. These include the Nina Home for orphans, established with a donation of HK$30 million from the Group’s former Chairwoman, Nina Wang Kung Yu-Sum; the expansion of the Yan Chai Hospital Total Joint Replacement Centre in 2011; the foundation of the Chinachem Volunteer Team in 2012; and lots more.

Following the Tianjin explosion in August 2015, Chinachem supported Social Workers Across Borders to actively carry out crisis intervention and assist local hospitals, universities and volunteer teams in training and supervision. Social Workers Across Borders has trained a total of 800 medical social workers in the past two years. In March 2016, the Tianjin Medical University General Hospital Medical Social Work Station was formally established, giving the community access to support from medical social workers.
